On the forefront, a patent leather platform sandal takes the center stage due to its sleek design and rather sculptural heel. It is steep, measuring about 6 inches high and to be honest, the price is up there too, tagged at $1,055.

But it is gorgeous, and it’s easy to understand why this particular platform sandal would cost so much. Like any Zanotti, this shoe will surpass trends and stay consistently chic for seasons to come, not just this year’s spring.

There is a cheaper alternative to this platform sandal, and still from Giuseppe Zanotti. In fact, it is virtually the same shoe but with slight changes to the height and the finish of the platform of the heel. While the former has a wooden finish, this one features a metallic gold gloss to match the gold tone hardware of the shoe.

Stylish, High Heeled Shoes Fit for the Workplace

Shopbop‘s Workwear Boutique is brilliantly stylish and professional, I honestly don’t know where to start. From crisp blouses to flirty tops, even flouncy skirts and bright suede shoes find their place in the regular work week– it almost makes me excited for Monday mornings. So I thought we’d do a special run of their featured work shoes to start us off this week.

Jacquelin High Heel Pumps, $140, Boutique 9

There is an obvious resurgence of pointy toe pumps, and I was personally gaga over the style about five years back. They can level up tailored knee-length shorts and pencil-cut skirts to business casual– plus they come in this assortment of designs that are getting a modern reboot today. Boutique 9′s Jacquelin pumps on top for example, feature a multistrap overlay and a textured stiletto heel for an edgy spin. Kate Spade New York and Elizabeth and James choose to highlight with colors such as licorice red and snakeskin embossed purple.

Suede is also getting much attention from brands like Jean-Michel Cazabat. The brand’s Olympia open toe pumps are in a noticeably retro hue of mint which will create such a statement with a navy blue ruffled skirt and a polka-dotted blouse. BCBGMAXAZRIA’s natural suede pump gets its modern spin with its rough cut stacked platform and stiletto heel.

And I am especially happy to note that vintage elements such as two-toned pumps are still part of the ranks, like RED Valentino’s black and nude patent pumps. It features a scalloped trim and a delicate bow at the vamp for days when you feel like being a bit more ’40s or ’50s in your style expression.

Mila Kunis looked her usual ravishing self at the Russian premiere of Friends with Benefits and while her short white, swan-like frock is the constant topic of tabloids, I thought we should give special attention to her cream leather ankle strap pumps.

Elie Saab is the name behind the tutu-like dress and is the same one behind those gorgeous shoes. It’s from her Fall/Winter 2011-2012 collection and the shoes are all over her runway designs.

I found a similar looking pump sans the straps at Shopbop. These are from B Brian Atwood and are equally stunning, even red-carpet premiere worthy.

It features textured metallic leather and a bronze contrast trim before leading to its covered stiletto heel and platform. Of course, it’s not like the mirror-like trim on Elie Saab‘s cream leather pumps but they create the same sweet and sexy effect.

I’m a sucker for any holiday, especially one that has fireworks, sweet treats and, of course, partying. Yes, I’m talking about the upcoming Chinese New Year. The 23rd of January will see the beginning of the Year of the Dragon which is said to be a transformational, life-changing year.

Net-a-Porter is in a similarly festive mood, featuring items decked in the red and gold colors associated with Chinese celebration! Their collection is gorgeous! And the shoes are very much on the mark as far as the theme is concerned. I picked out 3 favorites: glamorous pumps and sandals apt for such an explosive occasion!

Pierre Hardy’s Color Block Canvas Wedge Sandals

It would seem that colorblock, platform sandals will be hot for spring this year. I’m following up our feature of those gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti patent platform sandals with Pierre Hardy’s canvas wedge sandals, now declared by several fashion magazines as one of the top shoes to watch out for this spring.

We found the pretty ladies on Net-a-Porter, featuring 6-inch high wedges and 2-inches of platform. Its wavy canvas straps are in brightly colored hues, including color of the year: tangerine tango!

While patent leather like on the sherbet-colored Zanotti sandals create such drama, I believe Hardy did a good job of using canvas which is much more practical and easier to maintain. It is a gorgeous pair of wedges that anybody would love to wear every single day.

In styling, Net-a-Porter recommends picking out any of the colors and incorporating them in your outfit. Cropped or capri pants will show them off nicely. Full colored pieces, simple in design like this white Chloé shirt, and the royal blue Phillip Lim cropped pants tastefully highlight the fun sandals.

Retro Stylin’: High Heeled Shoes from Rachel Zoe’s Collection!

I admittedly find Rachel Zoe intriguing. Aside from making a name for herself as a stylist with great love for retro and vintage fashion, she is quite the character with her addiction to caffeine, passion for work, and her slightly neurotic yet enthusiastic catchphrases like, “Bananas!” or “I die!”

While I’m personally surprised about her launching her own collection in 2011 (I always thought she’d stay away from designing), her pieces are impressive and project her very personality and luxurious taste. Case in point: her two new shoes on Shopbop which exude both vintage glamour and regard for modern trends. Check them out!

Black suede and cream-colored linen combine to form these two-tone, platform sandals. The shoes affix to your feet quite nicely, and in so many ways, as it features a buttoned ankle strap, an elastic instep strap, and a lace-up tie at the heel cap.

And this wouldn’t be a Rachel Zoe creation without over five inches of heels! Cute, classy, and definitely risqué!

Rachel Zoe does another suede number with these purple wedge sandals. I love the contrast of the stacked wood detail to the plush royal purple, placed ingeniously at the foot bed.

Also a fun feature, the extreme cutouts and tassels at the lace-up tie. It’s like a marriage of deco and the 1970s! It also comes in blush which is immediately the tamer and sweeter twin sister.

Cute Heels: Giuseppe Zanotti’s Patent Colorblock Platform Sandals

I’ve decided that we’re doing cute today, ladies. And it’s all thanks to these patent color block sandals from the divine mind of Giuseppe Zanotti!

I stumbled onto these platform sandals whilst sourcing for maxi dresses on Shopbop. I thought I’ve died and gone to heaven! They stand on over 5 inches of chunky heel (which is a Zanotti standard) and 2 inches of platform colored in delicious sherbet colors of yellow, blue, and pink. Can I say, ‘yum’?

The black, buckled ankle strap serves as a great contrast for the bright colors and is a tasteful element that makes the shoe sophisticated and not over the top. Oh if this doesn’t get you excited for the warmer weather then I don’t know what will.
