The usually prim, proper and preppy Emmy Rossum has been spotted in less than girly duds recently. Of course Emmy was coming home from the gym at the time these pictures were taken, but these are nevertheless different from how Emmy Rossum usually dresses. I mean, the girl walks her dog in silver lamé shorts and high heels fer chrissakes. So even though this is regular gymwear, keep in mind that this is Emmy Rossum we’re talking about and this must be her idea of “dressing like a slob”:

Wait, let me take that back: Emmy Rossum would probably never consider dressing like a slob and “dressing down” probably isn’t even part of her vocabulary. I mean, her high top sneakers? She would wear them to the gym while I would wear them everywhere BUT the gym. They’re too good-looking a pair of high top sneakers to wear just to get sweaty and dirty! Just look at them:

I’m no sneaker fanatic but even I know that these are gorgeous. Too gorgeous in fact to just wear to the gym.

These cool high top sneakers with a retro vibe are the Nike Sweet Classic High High Top Sneakers. Although these aren’t exactly Emmy Rossum’s sneakers (hers are the Nike Blazer Mids), these are the closest color I could find to Emmy’s black and metallic silver ones.

Samantha Ronson: 80′s Vintage on Valentines Day

Lindsay Lohan’s ex-love, Samantha Ronson, was spotted leaving Crown Bar in Hollywood last February 14, looking like she was having a great time despite being single during Valentine’s Day. Her Valentine’s Day outfit was composed of pink jeans and crimson sweater, capped off with a pair of black and pink 80’s inspired hi-top sneakers. She was even proud enough to show off the shoes to the paparazzi:

We all know hi-top shoes were big in the 80′s, now they’re making quite a come back. It’s not as hot as the gladiator trend, but we do see a certain following for this shoe style, like Samantha here.

Katy Perry Dons 80’s Fashion and Vintage Inspired High-Cut Sneakers

Whenever I think of Katy Perry, I think of retro and vintage inspired fashion. Each appearance she makes never disappoints her fans. From the quirky headdress down to the shoes, her outfits always make a statement.

Take for example this picture of her coming out of (what looks like) a hotel.

It’s like she came from another era and time traveled all the way to the present. Mind you, she looks really authentic in her colorful 80’s get up and high-cut sneakers. She may look like she doesn’t belong in the picture, but she definitely stands out. And the beauty of it is that she can carry the whole thing without looking funny.
