And now, she returns in this era that fits her so well in a yet to be titled drama that coincides burlesque dancing and prostitution.

We see her in these Daily Mail pap shots, donning the flapper gear with, of course, the shoes to match. And they’re hard to miss, being pink and prettily bow’d up.

Cotillard has been spotted filming in Prospect Park, Brooklyn alongside Joaquin Phoenix. Jeremy Renner is also mentioned to appear in this film directed by James Gray. The movie is set to be released next year.

We’ve got all manners of military boots, combat boots, hiker boots and other lug-soled boots filling up the virtual shelves of our favorite online boutiques, and fashion followers are all clamoring for a pair to use this fall and winter season.

It’s a cool look and the styles are mostly easy to wear, but keeping a retro / vintage style is difficult while trying to ride on this tough, military-inspired trend. You could try wearing the boots with full 40s military regalia and run the risk of looking like an army freak, OR you could just opt for these Jeffrey Campbell Postcard Granny Booties:

The distressed leather, the lace-up design and the metal shoelace hooks are on point with the rugged boot trend while the contoured stacked heel and the curve at the back of the boot reveal a Victorian, 1800 to 1900s era inspiration. I’ve covered the established in the 1940s brand Bernardo in my last post and Marion Cotillard’s 50 dress in the post before that. This time, I want to talk about something that’s very 1940s but also very familiar to the present: the military trend.

Military was proclaimed to be a big trend for this year. And now that we’re in the middle of 2010, it looks like there’s no stopping its growth. We see the influence of military on clothes through details like epaulets, colors like khaki and green, and sharp tailoring, and on shoes? We’ve got studs, chains, zippers, buckles and a whole plethora of other military reinterpretations.

I went searching for current shoe styles with the most fashionable takes on the military trend and here are five that I found. We’ve seen many a celebrity rockin’ the combat boot, so I’d like to see them try these other shoe styles while the trend is still at its peak.

I wonder which celebrity already has the Giuseppe Zanotti for Balmain sandals (the last on this list)? Those shoes are stuff dreams are made of. Here are the five current shoes in military style:
