I’ve decided that we’re doing cute today, ladies. And it’s all thanks to these patent color block sandals from the divine mind of Giuseppe Zanotti!

I stumbled onto these platform sandals whilst sourcing for maxi dresses on Shopbop. I thought I’ve died and gone to heaven! They stand on over 5 inches of chunky heel (which is a Zanotti standard) and 2 inches of platform colored in delicious sherbet colors of yellow, blue, and pink. Can I say, ‘yum’?

The black, buckled ankle strap serves as a great contrast for the bright colors and is a tasteful element that makes the shoe sophisticated and not over the top. Oh if this doesn’t get you excited for the warmer weather then I don’t know what will.

Selena Gomez wowed fans and critics at the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards as she waltzed in a ruffled and edgy mini dress from Burberry Prorsum’s spring collection. But what caught our eye is the pair of purple peep toe platform pumps by Giuseppe Zanotti– it’s so teen trendy!

The shoes are a good call on styling, making her outfit fun and flirty when it could have otherwise been monochromatic and tragically mature. It’s a sizzling pop of color that goes well with the frayed ruffles and muted hue of the dress.

Happy 4th of July!

To commemorate this day of US independence, I thought it’d be nice to gather shoes that are red, white and blue. I was surprised by how many retro and vintage shoes I came across that show American pride!

Check out this selection of 5 pairs of patriotic shoes I’ve researched which includes an iconic pair of Doc Martens and one that’s actually named “4th of July”. One of these shoes even went as far as having the American eagle emblazoned on it!

Let’s start with a pair of sneakers from an all-American brand – Converse:

Nicole Kidman attended the ACM Awards last month in an interesting but unusual ensemble.

What do you think of her look? Love it or hate it?

Tell me, is it just me or do you also think ever since she married Keith Urban (no offense Mr. Urban), she has lost her ability to sparkle and dazzle on the red carpet (in this case orange)?

The interesting but unusual ensemble I am pertaining to is an odd combination of a military inspired structured dress paired with vintage (Victorian to be exact) inspired lace up booties.

I don’t know what she was thinking when she decided to wear this outfit but I wish I was there to at least give her a few tips. It doesn’t take a stylist to know something is wrong with the whole combination.

I can see the effort she took in trying to be trendy and fashion forward, but the effort left her looking a little off.

The whole look is so not the “Nicole Kidman, Celebrity Style Icon” I became a fan of. The shoes and the dress aren’t exactly bad, it’s just that each would look so much better with something else.

For instance, the dress would look better with platform pumps.

Christina Aguilera rang in the new year at TAO at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas with her husand Jordan Bratman. Here she is with Nicole Richie, who counted down the last seconds to 2010 at LAVO at the Palazzo Hotel:

Nicole Richie wore a gold dress from her own Winter Kate collection. She accessorized it with YSL Tribtoo Pumps which we wrote about before.

These 50s-inspired Louboutins are the perfect choice for Christina, who often prefers a rockabilly style to her outfits. And with her platinum blond hair and bright red lips, it’s no secret that Christina likes to emulate Marilyn Monroe, who was one of the biggest stars in the 50s and is considered to be one of the greatest actresses of all time.
