Yes it follows the lofty trend of heels and platforms and wedges, but we are awe-struck on how the Spanish label mixes high-class practical fashion with bold lines and colors. Their shoes can be used from spring to summer and beyond, from casual outfits to super dressy.

We also like their generous use of thick straps that wrap across the foot in all the right places, showing off its sexy curves. It puts a modern twist on the ’70s-inspired platforms– it is a stroke of genius.

Dotting mom Ashlee was spotted at the Everleigh in West Hollywood rocking festive winter styling. She matched a chunky blue sweater coat with a lovely floral blouse, lace skirt, and black tights. A pair of fabulously cute blue oxford booties added that hint of color and sleek edge. She finished the fetching look with a dainty purse and sparkling jewelry.

I like how Ashlee creatively mixed every piece in her ensemble to create that soft yet seasonal look. The way she injected that cheery feel with her flowery top and lace skirt is nice; not to mention that it’s a great way to show off the adorable oxford booties. I have only one complaint, though. The coat looks fine, but there’s something amiss with it; I think it’s way too big for her that it somehow looks odd on her. Oh well, just offering my two cents, actually. Anyhow, Ashlee Simpson here exudes that effortless cool aura that’s quite refreshing.

If you’re still going for the usual blacks, grays and other dreary shades, I suggest you get a little bit festive with your winter wardrobe by adding some colorful hues and patterns–it sure beats that windy winter weather. The vintage platform pump was clearly the inspiration for the YSL Trib Twos. Honed and sculpted to perfection with a teetering 5 1/2″ heel, the house of Yves Saint Laurent came up with this dream shoe which by now deserve iconic status.
