Miss “American Dream” Britney Spears celebrated her 28th birthday last December 2. To commemorate, she will grace the cover of the January 2010 issue of Elle Magazine along with another popstar, Lady Gaga.

Photographer Carter Smith was commissioned to do the honors, and here is one shot of Britney to be included in the inside spread:
