Don’t you just love, love Katy Perry’s new video, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)? It’s an ’80s extravaganza of partying, music and of course, fashion!

With the help of her friend Rebecca Black, Katy Perry as geeky Kathy Beth Terry is transformed into the hot ’80s heroine of practically every other John Hughes film and snags the hottest guy in the neighborhood! In her big reveal, we spotted mismatched, neon-colored patent pumps that sent our retro shoes radar buzzing with excitement! Must. Have. Patent.

Polka dots are sweeping the nation! Well, the Hollywood nation at least. A number of female celebrities have been seen sporting polka dots, each with their own take on the spotty print:

Katy Perry likes her with a bit of flamenco flavor, Natalie Portman prefers preppy, Rachel Bilson goes for a hippie vibe, while Taylor Swift is always the girly-girl.

Tiny, spread out or in huge circles – whichever you way you like them, polka dots always make you feel happy. Polka dots are fun and playful, and it’s so hard not to keep smiling while you’re wearing this pretty print.

Of course, polka dots are also associated with the 50s and the 60s so get your rockabilly on with polka dots! Dresses aren’t the only articles of clothing that’s been infected with polka dots – shoes too are in on the trend:

Though it’s a bit difficult to wear a polka-dotted dress and polka-dotted shoes at the same time… anyway, I’d love to have these shoes and I imagine wearing them would instantly brighten up my day.

Katy Perry Dons 80’s Fashion and Vintage Inspired High-Cut Sneakers

Whenever I think of Katy Perry, I think of retro and vintage inspired fashion. Each appearance she makes never disappoints her fans. From the quirky headdress down to the shoes, her outfits always make a statement.

Take for example this picture of her coming out of (what looks like) a hotel.

It’s like she came from another era and time traveled all the way to the present. Mind you, she looks really authentic in her colorful 80’s get up and high-cut sneakers. She may look like she doesn’t belong in the picture, but she definitely stands out. And the beauty of it is that she can carry the whole thing without looking funny.
