As a 90’s kid, there are tons of things I could not forget about that era – McGyver, ‘Nsync and platform shoes are just some of them. But I’m going to talk more about platform shoes because this pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes practically nudged me in that direction:

I always thought platform shoes only became hugely popular in the 90’s but after some research, I found out that they have been around and loved by style-loving people far longer than that.

In fact, way back Ancient Greece, these were already used. And they were not only relegated to pop culture. They were pretty mainstream back in the 30’s up until the 80’s, until it was again popularized by the Spice Girls in the 90’s.

Having found out all these, I can easily arrive to the conclusion that platform shoes are never going away. They will be in fashion, especially to those people who are more than willing to make a fashion statement.
