Shoe Collection Inspiration: Nicholas Kirkwood S/S 2012

The newest additions to the Nicholas Kirkwood shoe collection had us both swooning and drooling. I mean, with the bold uses of prints, colors and textures, who wouldn’t? And in this season when just about everyone is raving about floral prints and the color blocking trend, these shoes are definitely some must-haves.

But with the hefty price tag that usually accompanies these beautiful creations, I’m sure a lot of your will shy away from them. But not to worry because we have searched for equally stunning pairs inspired by the Nicholas Kirkwood Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

1. Nicholas Kirkwood I2S0235106

We couldn’t decide if this is a sling back, an ankle strap or a t-strap pair of pumps. It looks like an interesting, almost eclectic, mixture of the three. The almost architectural design is softened by its lace up and polka dot details.

The architectural and intricate leaf details might be missing on this pair of shoes but it has the same red and black color combo with bow and polka dot details.

2. Nicholas Kirkwood I2S0720A20

What could have been a basic ankle strap pair of black pumps was injected with ingenuity with its cut out strap details. It has a nice height to it with a very slim stiletto that will accentuate the shape of your feet and make you feel oh so girly.

It’s an open toe pair of low-heeled pump but it has the same ankle strap cut out details that made us think of Nicholas Kirkwood creation.

3. Nicholas Kirkwood I2S0230L01

Soft yellow and pink hues, adorned with floral details – it’s definitely a must-have this summer season.

Our Take:

This pair match, if not surpasses the feminine beauty of the previous pair. We like how muted the color is, more blush than real pink, and how its faint green leaves and red flowers make the perfect shoe accessory.

4. Nicholas Kirkwood I2S0721S02

This deserves to be in an art exhibit what with its beautiful wildflower prints and orange, blue green and yellow green color combination.

We like how beautifully crafted this pair of Chinese Laundry shoes is and how much it resembles the Nicholas Kirkwood work of art. Add this to your shoe collection if only for its unique abstract print details.

5. Nicholas Kirkwood I2S0001PP4

You can tell that there was a lot of labor of love involved in this masterpiece. The center strap is heavily adorned with beaded floral details of various colors.

Our Take:

We took our cue from its embellished center strap and chose this silver pair. The center strap is all embellished with chains and jewels that look a lot like flowers. We think it’s perfect for those days when you feel like dressing to the nines.
