Retro Inspiration: ’50s Style Yellow Platform Heeled Sandals!

by Karla Manlangit

All it takes is one retro-inspired shoe to inspire some vintage-inspired bargain-hunting. In this case, I found this bright yellow platform heeled sandals so striking that I had to look around Mod Cloth for more beautiful vintage-styled products.

No Cutting Corn-ers Heel, $42.99, Mod Cloth

The canary (or corn) yellow of this sandal is just gorgeous. I thought its combination with russet harnesses its brightness and makes it look sophisticated and ultimately, very 1950s. It has a very high heel at a towering 5 inches but its 1-inch platform plus the gently arch and incline makes it very comfortable.

Dress: Be Hue to Your School Dress, $84.99  Tin Box: Fun-disclosed Location Keepsake Box, $12.99  Necklace: Brolly Time Necklace, $19.99  Shoes: No Cutting Corn-ers Heel, $42.99

We thought a good, one-piece dress with just a striking a hue should go with this shoe hence the wool-blend, teal school dress. Imagine that with red tights– you’ll look amazing! And since we’re in a playful and nostalgic mood, we added the tin keepsake box and the enamel umbrella charm for a necklace.
