Kirsten Dunst as Marie Antoinette in Sofia Coppola film
Marie Antoinette’s story may be tragic but it is also of beauty and extravagance. Dramatic pannier clothing, heavy make up, aristocratic wigs and of course, lovely (and numerous!) Rococo shoes! In Sofia Coppola’s film Marie Antoinette, the delicious-looking collection of pastel-colored Rococo shoes were designed by Manolo Blahnik and truly fit for a queen. No wonder the film won an Oscar for Best Costume Design.

Fortunately, the Rococo-grandeur doesn’t have to end there. We found similarly-inspired shoes that you can incorporate with anything from jeans to dresses.
These royal blue flats evoke dainty nobility, just like Marie Antoinette. I especially love the touch of the ivory ribbon and blue lace.

It’s not quite Marie Antoinette enough unless it’s pink! These pink rose satin pumps remind me of cupcakes and Laduree pastries. J’adore!

Hers is a story that ends bitterly but Marie Antoinette’s lavish lifestyle taught us a thing or two in appreciating the finer things in life. And today, in her shoes, it’s like we walked the lovely halls of the Petit Trianon with her. C’est magnifique.
