Re-Mix Spectator Wedge Shoes in Spectacular Fashion

The spectator shoe is one footwear trend that has been going in and out of fashion since it was first designed in the late 1800s. To prove that point, here’s an ad for spectator shoes in a 1930 Sears catalog:

Over 10 years later, a similar ad for spectator shoes appeared in LIFE magazine:

And yet still 25 years later in 1966, the spectator shoe was once again resurrected and was featured in an ad for Stylist Golf Shoe Company as shown here:

Nowadays, this shoe style distinctively known for its two-tone color is considered more of a classic sporty dress shoe than anything else. Golf shoes currently being sold still remain to be in spectator-style and any man’s formal wardrobe isn’t complete without a pair of spectators (or wingtips or brogues or oxfords, as you may wish to call them). And as for women? Of course, the fairer sex always adds a twist to any article of clothing borrowed from the men’s department.
Taking the spectator shoe to new heights is the Spectator Wedge from Re-Mix:
This wedge has all the features of a spectator shoe: the lace-up style, the two-tone color and it even has the perforated leather. All the features from the original men’s shoe is in there but Re-Mix lends a feminine touch by adding a slim wedge sole and a faux slingback heel with cutouts. The Spectator Wedge is a formal enough shoe style to wear to work but things like the cute little peep toe detail at the tip of the shoe makes it a fun style to pair with less serious clothes.
BarefootTess.com carries the Re-Mix Spectator Wedge and they are now selling them for $90 off the original price on their website. The style featured here is the black and ivory color but it is also available in luggage and sand color combination.
